Antonio Riccio, PhD

Antonio Riccio is currently Instructor at Harvard Medical School. He graduated from the University of Naples, Italy with a MS in Biology and subsequently completed his PhD in Molecular Biology. His current research is focused on the elucidation of the underlying molecular mechanism of anxiety disorders. Understanding the underlying molecular mechanisms of inappropriate levels of anxiety and fear could permit to develop novel therapeutic interventions. He is also studying animal models which have deficits in gait and motor coordination and the molecular mechanisms that regulate the dendrite patterning in cerebellar cortex. His studies are multidisciplinary in nature and combine molecular, genetic, behavioral and electrophysiological techniques.
