Certification Categories

Two pathways to certification

After you submit the PCHospM Application Form, the ATMP Educational Board reviews your record and assigns the appropriate category based on seniority, background, and scope of leadership.

Category 1

Senior Leadership Pathway

For established hospital leaders — executives, directors, and senior managers with 8 or more years of experience, including significant leadership tenure. Assessed by portfolio; no examination required.

Seniority, scope, and duration of hospital leadership (services, budgets, teams, or facility oversight).
Demonstrable impact on performance and outcomes, plus the strength of your statement and references.

Category 2

Established Manager Pathway

For hospital managers meeting the 5-year minimum who are building toward executive roles. Combines portfolio review with a qualifying online examination.

Portfolio review of management experience across operations, capacity, staffing, or facilities.
Proctored online examination on hospital operations, resource management, and leadership; results within two weeks.

Submit Application

Complete the secure online application form and upload your CV. A €20 application evaluation fee applies — credited toward your certification fee on approval.

Board Review

The ATMP Educational Board reviews your record and assigns Category 1 or 2.

Assessment

Category 1: portfolio evaluation. Category 2: portfolio review plus qualifying examination.

Conditions & Fee

Sign the Certification Conditions Form and pay the applicable fee.

Certificate Awarded

Receive your PCHospM certificate and the right to use the postnominal title.
