A professional credential offered by EUSTM Academy, the professional certification body of the European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM) — recognising professionals with demonstrated expertise in planning, writing, and editing scientific, regulatory, and medical communications to high standards of accuracy, clarity, and compliance.
The PCMW title is a clear, verifiable signal that you have the professional background to plan, write, and edit scientific, regulatory, and medical documents — recognised by employers and collaborators worldwide.
PCMW is designed for professionals who plan, write, or edit scientific and medical content — across industry, academic, clinical, and agency settings. If one of these describes you, you are eligible to apply:
After you submit the PCMW Application Form, the EUSTM Academy Educational Board reviews each application and assigns one of two categories based on your background, experience, and qualifications.
For professionals with 3 or more years of relevant medical or scientific writing experience — CV- and portfolio-based evaluation, no examination required.
For early-career professionals or those transitioning into medical writing — certification granted upon passing a qualifying online examination.
Complete the secure online application form and upload your CV. There is no application fee — your submission goes straight to the EUSTM Academy Educational Board for review.
The EUSTM Academy Educational Board reviews your application and assigns Category 1 or 2.
Category 1: portfolio evaluation. Category 2: qualifying online examination.
Sign the Certification Conditions Form and pay the applicable fee.
Receive your PCMW certificate and the right to use the postnominal title.
