Silvia Viaggi

Silvia Viaggi received a Master’s degree in Biology and a postgraduate specialization in Applied Genetics by Pisa University, Pisa, Italy. After doing a two years postdoc at the GSF, Forschungszentrum für Umwelt und Gesundheit, München, Germany, she joined the faculty of Mathematical, Physical and Natural Sciences at the University of Genova as Assistant Professor of Genetics, where she is currently senior scientist in the Department of Earth, Environment and Life Sciences (DISTAV). She has also diagnostic responsibilities within the National Health Service at Galliera Hospital, Genova, Italy at the Laboratory of Human Genetics. Her research addresses questions on cancer biology, with a special interest on uveal melanoma development and progression.
