Srdjan Djurovic, PhD

Srdjan Djurovic is Professor and Group leader at the Department of Medical Genetics, Oslo University Hospital – Ullevål and University of Oslo/Bergen. His research area and expertise is molecular genetics of complex disorders, in particular related to neuropsychiatry. He is a leader of the Psychiatric Molecular Genetics Group. The group is a part of NORMENT (Norwegian Centre for Mental Disorders Research) which is a major collaborative effort studying clinical characteristics, neurocognitive functioning and brain biology of psychotic disorders. The group is particularly focused on schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and related neuropsychiatric phenotypes and by combing molecular genetics studies with extensive bioinformatics and biostatistical work (in collaboration with key national and international collaborators), we attempt to translate the genetic discoveries to specific phenotypes in clinical samples, as part of ongoing analytical studies.
