Having completed his Undergraduate BSc studies at The University of Leeds he then studied Medicine at The University of Manchester. He stayed in the Northwest of England and completed a 2 year Foundation (Residency programme) at The Royal Oldham and North Manchester General Hospitals. After enjoying rotations in Urological and Colorectal Surgery in this time he was successfully accepted onto the regions 2 year Core surgical training programme with a focused theme of General surgery amongst his placements.
He supplemented this with a one year training post in Breast and general surgery at the Royal Lancaster infirmary. He has been fortunate enough to give a number of National and International poster and oral presentations. He has written a number of peer reviewed publications and taught at a regional level having founded and organised a poster conference in his region aswell as training to become an examiner at The University of Manchester Medical School. His main interest is in Emergency and acute phase Surgery.
