Our professional certification body has a new name — one that says exactly who we are, and where it belongs.
The European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM) is pleased to announce that its professional certification body, formerly known as the ATMP Academy, now operates as the EUSTM Academy.
A name should open the right door. In the regulatory and clinical world, “ATMP” is firmly associated with Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products — a specific class of medicines — while our academy’s remit has always been far broader: from translational medicine and clinical research to hospital management, digital health, and patient safety. The old name increasingly created confusion about what we certify; the new one removes it.
Just as importantly, the change brings the academy home. Our certifications are designed, reviewed, and awarded within the EUSTM community — alongside the society’s journals, congress, and advisory programmes. Carrying the EUSTM name aligns the academy with the portfolio it belongs to, and lets certified professionals carry a name their peers and employers already recognise in more than sixty countries.
What this means for certified professionals: all certifications issued under the ATMP Academy name remain fully valid until 31 December 2026 — no action is required. If you would like your credential re-issued under the EUSTM Academy name before then, simply contact us at [email protected] and we will be glad to re-issue your certificate.
Everything else you value stays exactly the same: the same Educational Board, the same assessment standards, and the same commitment to recognising demonstrated professional competence.
