2Liability

EUSTM takes care to provide accurate and up-to-date information; however, it cannot be held liable for any errors, inaccuracies, or incompleteness of any information provided on this website.

EUSTM assumes no responsibility for any technical damage that may arise from visiting this website, nor for the content of any external websites accessed through links provided here. Such links are offered purely as a service to users and do not imply any endorsement by EUSTM.

4Certification Applications & Fees

Applications for EUSTM Academy certifications and fellowships are submitted online free of charge — there is no application or assessment fee. Each application is individually reviewed by the EUSTM Academy Educational Board.

Where an application is approved, the applicable certification or fellowship fee becomes payable and must be settled before the certificate is issued. Fee categories are determined by the applicant's country income group under the World Bank classification (high-, middle-, or low-income). Fees may be paid by card (Stripe), PayPal, or bank transfer, as offered and as permitted by applicable regulations.

If an application is approved but the applicant declines to proceed or does not respond within 30 days of the approval notice, the applicant may normally submit a new application after 12 months. The Educational Board may waive this period where documented professional, financial, medical or personal circumstances reasonably justify an exception.

Unsuccessful applicants receive written feedback and may re-apply. In exceptional circumstances, EUSTM may, at its sole discretion, offer a re-assessment; this is not an entitlement.

5Individual & Student Membership

Individual membership is €85 per year and Student / Trainee membership is €50 per year. Membership runs for a 12-month term from the date it is activated.

Payment can be made by card (Stripe), PayPal, or bank transfer, according to what is offered for the product and permitted by applicable regulations. Where you pay by a card or PayPal subscription, membership renews automatically each year at the then-current rate until you cancel; where you pay by bank transfer or invoice, renewal is by manual payment and no automatic charge is taken. You may cancel or change renewal at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancelling a subscription stops the next automatic renewal; your membership continues until the end of the current paid term and is not pro-rated or refunded for the remainder of that term.

Student / Trainee membership is offered at a reduced rate for enrolled students and trainees. EUSTM may request evidence of eligibility and may adjust or withdraw a student rate where eligibility cannot be confirmed.

6Corporate & Consortium Membership

Corporate Membership is an annual organisational membership for eligible commercial and life-sciences organisations and is subject to the fee and terms stated in the written membership offer. The EUSTM Consortium is an institutional membership network for eligible hospitals, universities, research institutes, specialist centres and organised research groups. Founding Institutional Membership is currently offered at an institutional fee of €0 for the first 12 months to the first 50 approved institutions, subject to the published participation conditions. The nominated representative’s individual membership is a separate personal membership. Any later Consortium renewal offer, benefits and applicable fee will be communicated before expiry and will not renew or charge automatically.

Other organisational memberships run for the term stated in their written confirmation and renew only by agreement unless expressly stated otherwise.

Membership is a professional-society relationship. It is not an accreditation, licence, or regulatory status, does not guarantee any commercial outcome, and confers only the benefits set out on the relevant membership page and in your welcome materials.

7Centre of Excellence, Advisory & Educational Engagements

The EUSTM Centre of Excellence Programme, advisory services, and educational-infrastructure engagements are provided under a separate written agreement or proposal that sets out fees, scope, and timelines. Fees may be paid by card (Stripe), PayPal, or bank transfer, as set out in that agreement and as permitted by applicable regulations.

Centre of Excellence assessments are conducted under the published Assessment Governance & Integrity rules. Fees pay for the assessment or service and its administration only; they never purchase, influence, or guarantee an award or any particular outcome. The designation is a professional-society quality recognition and is not a statutory accreditation.

8Cancellation, Refunds & Withdrawal

Consumers in the EU/EEA have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from the purchase of a membership. Where you ask EUSTM to make membership benefits available immediately, you agree that this right ends once those benefits have been provided, to the extent permitted by law.

Outside the withdrawal period, fees already paid for a current term are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly agreed in writing. Fees for advisory, educational, or assessment engagements follow the cancellation and refund terms of the relevant agreement. Nothing in these Terms affects your non-waivable statutory rights as a consumer.

9Appeals & Complaints

Appeals against a Centre of Excellence assessment outcome, and complaints about the conduct of an assessment, are handled under the Assessment Governance & Integrity procedures. Certification applicants may request re-assessment as described in clause 4.

10Governing Law & Jurisdiction

The European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM) is a neutral, non-profit organisation registered in Vienna, Austria.

Any disputes related to the Society — including disputes arising with any of the Society's board members, panels, or general members — shall be brought before an Austrian court and shall be governed and interpreted in accordance with Austrian law.
