Dr. Tamas Ungi

Dr. Tamas Ungi is a Senior Research Scientist at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, where he holds adjunct faculty appointments at the School of Computing and the Department of Surgery. He received his MD degree in 2006 and PhD in Radiology in 2011, both from the University of Szeged in Hungary. Dr. Ungi’s research focuses on the translation of new technologies to clinical research, with a particular interest in image-guided medical interventions, skills education, and real-time applications of artificial intelligence in ultrasound-guided procedures. He has published 64 journal articles, 87 conference papers, 5 patents, and 2 book chapters, with a total citation of over 2500. In addition to his research, Dr. Ungi has been leading the development of open-source software tools that are widely used in research projects around the globe.
