The Professional Certification in Translational Medicine (PCTM) is an internationally awarded credential offered by the ATMP Academy and accredited by the European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM).

The PCTM recognises professionals with demonstrated expertise in translational medicine — the applied discipline of advancing scientific discoveries from laboratory research into clinical practice and patient outcomes. Whether working in research, clinical development, regulatory affairs, or industry, the PCTM title reflects professional competence and commitment to excellence in translational practice.

Certified individuals earn the right to use the PCTM postnominal title — a professional mark of distinction in the global translational medicine and life sciences landscape.

Why Earn the PCTM Certification?

Earning the PCTM title recognises your expertise in translational medicine and communicates to employers and collaborators that you have the professional background to lead cross-functional translational projects from discovery through to clinical application.

With PCTM, you can:

  • Use the PCTM postnominal title on your CV, LinkedIn profile, and professional correspondence
  • Demonstrate your competency to design, manage, and contribute to translational medicine projects across regulated environments
  • Strengthen your profile for leadership roles in pharmaceutical and biotech companies, CROs, research institutions, regulatory bodies, and hospitals
  • Increase your visibility for senior roles in translational research, clinical development, and medical affairs
  • Support your eligibility for consultancy and advisory roles in life sciences and healthcare innovation
  • Connect with EUSTM’s international network of translational medicine professionals and attend priority events
  • Stand out in a competitive global job market by holding a professional credential from a European scientific society

Designed for the Global Ecosystem

The PCTM is awarded by the ATMP Academy and accredited by the European Society for Translational Medicine (EUSTM), a registered scientific society headquartered in Vienna, Austria, with members across 60+ countries.

The certification is designed to be relevant and applicable to professionals working across:

  • Pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies
  • Academic research institutions and translational research centres
  • Contract Research Organisations (CROs)
